The Committee has unanimously agreed to cancel all working bees and Friday get-togethers due to the Covid-19 virus.
The cancellation of these events doesn’t mean you can’t tend to your garden beds, we just need to exercise social distancing measures of 2 metres away from others.
We have also put in place new rules while you are working at the garden.
1. Don’t touch tap handles, hoses, container and chook pen padlocks, rubbish bin handles or lids with your naked hands.
2. Everyone must wear Latex gloves to operate taps and hoses, and garden tools. Garden gloves are not enough personal protection.
3. It would be best to use your own garden tools from home instead of club tools.
4. If club tools are used they need to be wiped down with antibacterial wipes when returned.
5. The club won’t be supplying latex gloves or antibacterial wipes. You will need to bring your own from home.
Garden maintenance still needs to continue.
1. Weed all pathways.
2. Water all community garden beds.
3. Keep your garden beds free of weeds.
4. Continue to weed community beds.
5. Water and weed camellia beds.
Further to this statement our only chook has gone on holidays to the Hunter Valley to strike up new friendships with twenty other chooks. When all this is over, she will return with some new point of lay girlfriends.
This last decision wasn’t taken lightly as the federal government Covid-19 eradication plan may potentially restrict outings from home to one daily for each household. This would put the welfare of our chook at risk of neglect.
